SoundFactory
Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival Education Programme.
SoundFactory is a creative music-making ensemble for 30 young people from 4 schools in Dewsbury. The SoundFactory meets weekly at Birkdale High School and is led by two local musicians, James Squire and Laura Taylor. It gives young people the opportunity to learn instruments, compose new music and perform together. The ensemble also receives workshops by visiting artists covering a diverse range of styles and cultures. The samba workshop was delivered by Got2Groove.
